can you throw down serial blog entrys and still feel good? im about to find out.
so theres an undercurrent of distain revolving in certain circles regarding the current shape of things.it seems to me like most people base thier ideas on someone elses good idea,and by the time this goes on for several years the end result is a really bad idea.there is little thought out there.well theres alot of thought but mostly misinformed tainted visions of some californian surfing dream.so many brainless hopeless renditions of something that never worked anyway.so much nostalgia and cheap self gratification.
so theres a shift to more realistic explorations of the curl,a more fine tuned, on edge, connected feeling based way of surfing.they even made a club for this new thing! its like aa for curl explorers.they call themselves the insects that are not aliens surfing club.
im about to go and give them a heads up,you might say,on whats real and whats fake and how to laugh to yourself all day everyday as you watch people go out for a feelingless fight with thier current piece of nostalgia.

i just spent two weeks on the road with three surfboards.things started bad.my dog jack died from the hand of god...he dropped a rock on him as i was surfing southside.this was a cruel and unusual twist of fate though it did nothing to ease my foot to the floor urges.
i told myself jokes for five days on the southcoast,funny jokes too.then went north for more crystal dreams.
i ran with some wolves in crescent,heavy bearded wolves with wild ambition and reckless hearts.then things got really fuckin strange...it was a full moon....i had a beard....i saw a man howling at the moon! it wasnt me but at the time i thought it was..i was like, fuck, hows jordan over there howling at the moon...oh wait, im jordan!!hahaha....then i went to a cave and when i came out the world was a different place...
wild restless wanderings..in this great southern land..are never enough..

after beating off several serious attempts from heath falcone to convince me to lead his ufo club i finally got a chance to get some real work done.thank god.
ben considine surfs better than you and hes twelve....which is kinda bizzare,and if you ask him about things like that he wont really tell you much, which i reckon is just great.hes so quiet that we thought wed do him the loudest board possible and it came out pretty cool.the shapes similar to one of my old magic boards...everythings just scaled down a bit and tweaked to allow for his midget frame.hope you happy and ripping on it grommet.

aido from rake came and picked up his log today and also checked out the rake quad about to be glassed.i think we're all pretty stoked on the way theyre coming out....i must say, i dont know weather its a bowl cut or a half netball cut or a helmet cut, but aidos hair is fair and flared.its funny cos his hat always looks like its part of his haircut, which is either incredibly hard to do or incredibly easy......
this is degenerating so ill move on... notes are also in patagonia...stickers are there too so if you want to feel some rad curves and go bird sticking thats the place....

i like these hull things so much.when i was about ten i used to shape my lego men sick little polystyrene boards.they were about ten inches long and full hulls.they probably looked more like boats but my little men used to rip on them.id tow them onto ankle high waves out front of my grandmas and watch them get smashed.these things in thier various forms are the most simple and natural of surfboard design.they can be a headfuck to shape but if your a boat man you can just feel the thing out.its like if you try and follow your formula you wont get it..you have to treat it more like sculpture...the board in the photo is by neil randall, that potato gobbling english creep....fuck im going on...so the point of all this is,
1:i have a new hull.
2:the thing is a blade.
3:it will make for some weird surfing.
4:it has been sitting in my shed unsanded fo a month.
5:this lazyness must end.
6:as i have to shape another one.
7:and i want to go and sit in round waves up north.

we received a batch of stickers the other day.some are massive and some are medium.they look cool on anything that looks like it needs to look cool.5 bucks will get you a small one, and ten bucks will provide enough sticky surface to catch several small birds if they land on it sticky side up.this seems unlikely though as most people just stick them on something,and leave bird catching to the experts.like me....if you want one drop me a line..

im going to highjack my own blog with more prawn publicity...the guys been ripping lately even though hes been keeping the hours of a vampire.this is last tuesday at about 1pm.it had been as good as it gets all morning and this strange cross between a vampire and a small crustacean only just got a surf before it went onshore...he could be smart though,there were 50 guys out all morning and when he rocked up everyone was dead tired and over it.im claiming his board so heavily,i couldnt surf it but hes got the thing dialled...scotty took the photo...

the last week or so has been kinda hectic.the waves were pumping three days straight, so me, scotty, sash and jarrah hunted waves all day monday tuesday and wednesday.i think i shaped a board each of those days too.so ive been slowly recovering by doing some sanding and finish coats...fun...scottys a hard man to nail to a wall but somehow i got some photos from his cutting room floor.

fish baits evolution log....he wanted to do the raddest cutbacks in the history of surfing and noseride the rest of the time.we were kinda bantering about a round tail for a week or so then things just went snap and i did it.
this was probably the most fun ive had watching someone glass,it was so intense...with all that colour i guess there had to be a compromise somewhere in his life and the van was it.its been going through a slow change from stock white to matt black.,now when he drives around town young girls hide and old friends pretend they dont know him.but at least hes cool.

just another day in paradise.prawn, myself and 'the witness' had a business meeting to attend with two logs in a carpark.things got quite heated only because it was so hot,then we thought wed cool off with a "free" beer and slice of pizza at tigerfish.according to the local rumour mill bob mctavish was signing his new book of tall storys.the only thing there that was tall was the free beer story,bob was definatly a small human being but his book was long.i felt like a papparatzo but i only took a couple of photos and they were of me and fish bait.bob was too quick or small to capture on film so i left him to the wolves.

so this one is a bit of a mystery, well theres no mystery to me, but to others there may be, i dont know.there is a red triangle on some foam and its like the bermuda triangle where things go missing and strange things happen for no good reason.the triangle means nothing but it will go better because its there.this one is the one. its going to be warm like bermuda on tuesday so hopefully we can all go missing in some little vortexes all by ourselves with the mystery spot for company...

the relevance of theory is unproven however i have stumbled upon a few of my own.
lorne point was so good last summer and everywhere else was so bad. and my theory is that it was all to do with the wind. constant east and southeasterlys pushed so much sand into the corner it kinda felt like first point when you got a screamer through the double up.it made for a heavy scene and many strange scenarios mostly involving minimals, frolicking grandparents, small children, small animals,big rocks,cheap drop ins, long noserides and ruined surfboards.i had the time of my life down there last summer, there was always some form of action close at hand, and the atmosphere was light...
